a little spotlight on Hudson Red

The estimable Murray’s Cheese in NYC spotlighted Twin Maple Farm’s Hudson Red cheese today.  Doug, the original Hudson farmers’ market cheese guy, is no longer their cheese maker, but the cheese is still good.  The image above shows it slathered on a local baguette a short while back.   It did not last long.  Yum.

Don’t buy it on Amazon – you should be able to find it this weekend at the Hudson Farmers’ Market.

    Whatever happened to Doug Ginn? Is he making cheese elsewhere?

      I actually ran into Doug in NYC, manning a Consider Bardwell table at the West Village farmers’ market. I don’t know any other details…

  2. Doug is still an owner and is at Columbia pursing MA is Sustainable Management. Tim Mercante worked with Doug at Hawthorne Valley Farm and Tim is now at the Helm making Hudson Red and dong a stellar job. Douggie fresh is my brother inlaw and is now head cheesemaker at Beechers.
